Projects today are more technically demanding, harder to execute and more costly than ever. Many are located in extreme and challenging offshore environments and in countries with different political and socio-economic requirements. In such a complicated environment, managing risk and improving the certainty of outcomes for major oil and gas projects is a prime concern for every operator.

Our approach to risk management starts with Health, Safety, Security and the Environment (HSSE). We support our commitment with an HSSE policy for all Cobalt employees and contractors backed by an enterprise management system that systematically integrates HSSE into management and work practices at all levels.

The Cobalt operating team has developed deepwater reservoirs around the world, successfully establishing and developing multi-national and multi-cultural operating organizations. Our Operating Standards and Policies provide us with a blueprint for managing potential strategic, regulatory, ethical, financial and other risks to ensure our ability to capture opportunities and enhance asset value is not hindered.

Recognizing that risk is a dynamic condition, Cobalt has developed flexible, scalable systems for identifying, assessing, controlling and managing risk based on changing situations and the operating requirements of every project.
